January 1, 2019: Best Books I Read In 2018
I’ve already gushed about some of these in my Book Lovers 2018 Year End Tag. Others I’ve written reviews for on my blog, and yet others are still waiting for me to review them (but that doesn’t mean I didn’t love them. Sometimes it’s hard to find the words to describe the things you love.) If I’ve reviewed the book, I’ll link to it in the list below.
Best 10 Books of 2018:
- Clod Make A Friend – Bottom Line: This book is a sweet treat of a read. I’m not just saying that because cake literally saves lives in this book, but because it was a great story, start to finish.
- Tales of the Not Forgotten – Bottom Line: This book is part of the storyweavers series and I can understand why it’s called that. The stories are artfully crafted and a real treat to read. I highly recommend this book
- Roar (is still waiting for me to write a review.) – Bottom Line: A great start to a fantasy series. I can’t wait to see where this goes.
- Forth Talisman series – Bottom Line: Kat Ross is a great writer and I can’t sing her praises enough… I also can’t wait for the final book in this series to come out.
- Era of Undying – Bottom Line: I thoroughly enjoyed reading Era of Undying. The action didn’t let up and the twists kept me interested.
- Island on Fire – Bottom Line: In a word, intense! A great read with a strong heroine a fantastic setting and lots of action.
- The Lunar Chronicles (is still waiting for me to write a review.) – Bottom Line: So far it’s been intriguing (I’ve read Cinder and Scarlet.) I’m enjoying these science fiction retellings of fairy tales.
- Unwind (is still waiting for me to write a review.) – Bottom Line: I am still processing this book and what it’s trying to say about the value of life, but wow, what a book!
- Forbidden (The Books of Mortals, #1) (is still waiting for me to write a review.) – Bottom Line: A very interesting premise for a Christian book. I don’t even know how to describe it. But I’m looking for the next book in the series cause it feels like the story has only just begun.
- Numbers Games (is still waiting for me to write a review.) – Bottom Line: In the future your grade is everything. A number, literally shown on your forehead, ranks your place in society. What a crazy (but not too crazy) idea for a future dystopia. I love dystopians that take an idea and push it to it’s limits in a future society and this is just what Numbers Game does.
What were some of the best books you read in 2018? Leave me links to your reviews because I’d love to check them out.
