Top Ten Tuesday #55: Colorful Books

Woman Coloring in a Coloring Book

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

April 20, 2021: Colorful Book Covers

How about a little twist to today’s topic? Instead of Colorful Book Covers I present Coloring Book Covers. Next to reading, coloring is one of my favorite hobbies. Some people have “rediscovered” the love for coloring through adult coloring books. My husband will tell you I never stopped coloring, so there was nothing to rediscover.

Below you see listed coloring books and a page I’ve done from each of them. Have fun exploring.

Seven Coloring Book Covers

This one was fun I bought it at a con and got the artist to sign it. The coloring pages came in this packet and the packet itself was able to be colored. So I colored my own coloring book cover.
A finished inside page from Dr Equis. I love the Steampunk designs in this.
Ugh, don’t you hate price tags that don’t come cleanly off? This one was a bargain store purchase and the designs within are hit or miss.
This fantasy design was definitely a “hit”, although I added the Spirit flames myself.
These coloring “books” are super cool. Not so much a book as a panaromic pull out.
This is the center of the layout. An epic fight going on here. I haven’t quite finished it cause horses that a lot of work, and the background had to wait.
A great big coloring book I picked up at Costco. The cover only shows a small portion of what’s inside.
These pages are so big it’s hard for me to get a good picture of them. This page I did entirely with stippling.
This is just about the perfect coloring book for me. 😍
For this page I literally grabbed a random color from the box, would decided where to put it and then grab another random color. It was a fun experiment and turned out pretty well.
I have two copies of this coloring book because my family knows how much I love peacocks and two of them gifted me copies.
The picture came out kind of fuzzy, but the page is beautiful. I love that these Creative Haven designs are single sided and easily removable from the book. It makes them easy to work on and easy to display when finished.
This coloring book is full of fun designs and the inside cover has a lot of coloring techniques, tips and tricks.
Another experiment, this one I call coloring outside the lines. I just love the way it turned out.

Thank you. I love them too, though it surprising how vastly different the quality can be from one to another (even books by the same publisher.)
